Galaxy Sales Top 50 Million Units For Samsung

Samsung certainly knew they were onto a winner with the Galaxy platform, and 50 million unit sales in roughly three years are a testament to that.

The Koren Smartphone maker has quoted it has now surpassed its target of 50 million sales of all Galaxy devices.

The largest driver of these sales has been the flagship devices with the original Galaxy scoring over 24 million in two years, whilst its successor, the Galaxy SII notched up 28 million in just 13 months!

Samsung’s genre setting Phablet, the Note, also did well accounting for some 7 million units in 8 months, and its still gaining popularity and releasing in some markets!

Slightly disappointing is that Samsung did not release numbers for its entry and mid sector Galaxy devices, however if we fill in the gaps with the numbers, we can work out these have sold quite well also.

We will need to revise these figures sometime soon though, as the latest King on the block, the Galaxy SIII has only just launced with pre-orders over 9 million units.

Samsung certainly have some celebrating to do!

Galaxy S III Marketing Shots Leaked?

Well there certainly is a lot of “leaked” information coming out on the interwebs regarding the Galaxy S III.

Samsung is a little like Apple in that regards.

However a German Blog has released pictures from Samsung’s Ad Agency Weber Shandwick, and claim these to be the final Marketing shots of the Quad Core Super Phone.

The Blog also goes on to suggest a May 22 release date, which could explain all these recent leaks, and hype up in activity.

We can see from the shots that the sleek unibody and slender design we have seen in graphical renders recently, appear to be true.

This really is going to be one amazing piece of technology from Samsung, who have never disappointed with the Galaxy range since release.

Looking a little closer seems to reveal a dedicated camera button, as well as two speakers for stereo sound. One on the bottom of the phone and one at the very top.

It also appears once and for all that there will still be a hardware button and not the Galaxy Nexus ICS style digital keys. For sure there will still be two capacitive touch buttons besides the central hardware button.

We have here a Photoshopped Black edition based on the above pics.

One thing’s for sure, we are on the edges of our seats every day from here on in Samsung!
